Today in class we discussed a principle of being culturally blind versus cultural awareness. Being culturally blind is treating all of the students no matter what race the same, this view has some ups and downs. The first positive is that the students would all be treated the same, then on the downside some minority students might feel ostracized from the group because they are not all them same. Cultural awareness is different by incorporating cultural awareness in the lessons that are being taught in the class. This might help the other students understand a little more about their background. This can help the students in the class feel more apart of the group and not so alienated
